This map is one a of a series of maps of London neighbourhoods, designed by J.P. Sayer and published monthly in the Strand Magazine from 1946 under the heading of "A Survey of London"
One map would appear with each monthly issue.
In 1947 the maps were reprinted in their own right in a separate booklet. This is one of those maps.
J P Sayer was a British artist whose work included railway posters and maps.
His maps combine history with humour and reflect a romantic interest in the past and a feeling of optimism for post-war Britain.
