In 1635, he released his atlas, Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, sive, Atlas novus.
After Willem's death His two sons Joan, (1596-1673) and Cornelium (1610-1648) , inherited there father’s business and continued to expand on his work
In 1662, the Joan Blaeu published the Atlas Maior, an enlarged work of his fathers containing 600 maps in 11 volumes.
