Original antique map entitled "Nouvelle carte de la Petite Tartarie ou Taurie". It was created by Jan Barend Elwe and published in 1787. The map is part of Elwe's "Atlas der wereld," a world atlas published in Amsterdam, which contains 37 maps of the world.It depicts the region known historically as Tartary, focusing on the area around the Black Sea. This includes parts of modern-day Eastern Europe, Ukraine, Crimea and Western Asia. The map is oriented with north at the top, as indicated by a compass rose.
