Original antique map with hand colouring.
The map, "Europa. Samt den Reisen des Capitain Cook" (Europe, including the voyages of Captain Cook) was published in Vienna by Tranquillo Mollo (1767–1837) in 1816.
Although it is titled "Europe", it is notable for illustrating the global routes of Captain James Cook, as it specifically traces Cook’s voyages across the Atlantic and Pacific, including departure and arrival dates such as his 1772 departure from Plymouth and 1775 return to Portsmouth.
Tranquillo Mollo was a prominent Vienna-based publisher known for globes and atlases, often collaborating with other European cartographers to bring international discoveries to the Austrian market.
