George Frederick Cruchley (1797-1880) was a cartographer, engraver and publisher, active in London in first half of19th century. He issued maps and travel guides to England, Wales and London, mostly in format of folding pocket guides and maps. This particular map was an engraved then hand-coloured plan, dissected and mounted on linen. The red, yellow and green lines depict the boundaries of the City of London, the City & Liberties of Westminster and the Borough of Southward. The major streets are listed in the margins.
