An original antique map with original colouring, particularly interesting because it shows the Independent Province of South Australia.
The South Australia Act, 1834, created the Province of South Australia, with no convict settlers. South Australia became a self-governing colony in 1857 with the ratification of The Constitution Act, 1856 and the Parliament of South Australia was formed.
It was the first place in the world to institute the system of land registration in 1858 and women were granted the vote in the 1890s. South Australia became a State of the Commonwealth Of Australia in 1901 following a vote to federate with the other British colonies of Australia.
